Perpetual rights grant — no reversion
Section 4(b) grants the label the master in perpetuity even if the track is never released. If they shelve it, your work is theirs forever with no royalty path. Industry standard is 12–24 month reversion if unreleased.
Cross-collateralized recoupment
Section 7(c) ties your publishing share to recoupment of the master advance. You could be locked out of publishing income for years even after the song earns out on its own.
No audit rights
No clause grants you the right to inspect royalty statements or accounting. You'd have to trust their math with no contractual recourse. Standard is annual audit rights with notice.

No. ReadMyDeal gives you a plain-English read on what's in your contract and where common pitfalls usually live in deals like this. For binding decisions on important contracts, you should still talk to an entertainment attorney.
Who's behind the analysis?
A music-industry red flag playbook built by a working producer who's signed enough of these deals to know where the traps live, running on frontier AI. What about confidentiality?
